Course Length:
Low Pressure Boiler Operator: 50 hrs.
Course Description:
Course covers steam cycle, design, types, application and operational procedures of low pressure steam boilers, preparing boilers for inspection, combustion controls, methods of gas and oil firing, safety devices, emergency operational procedures, steam heating systems, water treatment, auxiliary equipment such as pumps, heaters, steam traps, water treatment and the Ohio License Laws.
Course can be used in lieu of 1,600 hours of the 2,000 hours of experience required to take the Ohio Low Pressure Boiler Operator License examination.

High Pressure Boiler Operator Course:
Course Length:
High Pressure Boiler Operator: 75 hrs.
Course Description:
Course consists of all material covered in the Low Pressure Boiler Operator course in addition to: the design, types, application and operation of high pressure steam boilers, pollution control systems, instrumentation, cooling water systems, stoker and pulverized coal combustion systems, superheaters, heat recovery systems, mathematics related to boilers, pumps and safety valves and applicable NPFA,CSD, ASME and National Board Codes.
Course can be used in lieu of 1,300 hours of the 2,000 hours of experience required to take the Ohio High Pressure Boiler Operator License examination.

Course Description:
Course consists of all material covered in the Low Pressure Boiler Operator course and High Pressure Boiler Operator course in addition to: steam turbine types, designs, applications, operating procedures, steam turbine governor and lubrication systems, operation of steam turbines under normal and emergency conditions, steam turbine auxiliaries, condensers, de-superheaters, reheaters, high pressure feedwater heaters and mathematics related to steam turbines and turbine auxiliary systems.
Course can be used in lieu of 1,300 hours of the 2,000 hours of experience required to take the Ohio Stationary Steam Engineer License examination.
